自babbler3.17以来,又发现了一个在second life中可以直接使用的,很不错的整句翻译工具.Simbolic Translator

自从俺的脚本师傅一直不上sl以后,他的整句翻译工具也就一直不好用了.而babbler对中日文的翻译支持又不太好.

今天一个西班牙的朋友介绍了一个新的secondlife中的整句翻译工具给我.

点击屋子里的Simbolic Translator广告牌就可以免费获得一个翻译机.Wear在身上,就可以使用,在屏幕的左上角,可以出现一个操作界面,和以往的软件相比,很精致灵巧.如图所示

点击I SPEAK右侧,可以选择你的母语.THEY SPEAK右侧,可以选择要翻译的语言,如果我设置成中文翻译成英文,

该软件支持22国语言的互译,试了一下,效率还是不错的.虽然机器翻译有一些通病,常用句的使用还是很正常的.和外国人聊天,基本上能看得懂!

Secondlife是一个国际化的平台,有了翻译工具的帮助,你可以和更多的外国人交流沟通了.这是一个很不错的工具,推荐大家使用.

如果想学外语,还是用sl的词典可能更好一些吧.

Thank you for your interest in the Simbolic Translator. 

Q: What is the Simbolic Translator?
The Simbolic Translator is an easy-to-use HUD attachment that enables avatars in Second Life to communicate across multiple languages.

Q: What languages does it support?
The Simbolic Translator supports translations between any of the following 22 languages:  Arabic, Bulgarian, Chinese, Croatian, Czech, Danish, Dutch, English, French, German, Greek, Hindi, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Norwegian, Polish, Portuguese, Romanian, Russian, Spanish and Swedish

Q: How do I use it?
Right-click and wear it from your inventory.  The Translator will attach to your HUD in the top-left of your screen.    Select which language you speak and the language of the people you are listening too.  When you speak in public chat, your text will  be translated to the selected language into the public channel for all around you to see.  When someone around you speaks in the public channel, their text is translated in a private message only you can see.

Q: It's not translating - whats wrong?
The most common issue is trying to translate on land that does not allow script access.   Be sure that you are communicating on land that allows scripts to run.

If you're on land that allows scripts and the translator still isn't translating or if you are receiving errors,  there may be a communication problem between Second Life and our translation engines.   We're sorry about that.  Please try again later and thank you for your patience. 

Q: It seems like some graphics are missing or are overlapping - what gives?
This is a known issue.  To see all of the graphics, try clicking an "I Speak" or "They Speak" option.  That should reset the translator. If that doesn't work, try detaching and rewearing from inventory.

Q: The translator replaced my Huddle/AO/other HUD - how can I fix that?
With the translator in your inventory, right-click and select Attach to HUD and select a different location.   The Simbolic Translator uses "Center 2" as the default attachment location.

Q:  Why is this free?
Simbolic Scripted Objects is offering this translator to the SL Community for free because we believe in connecting people across language barriers.    Additionally, the Simbolic Translator it is dependent on translation engines which are outside of our control.  If the translation engine goes down, so does the Simbolic Translator and I wouldn't feel right charging  for a service that doesn't work!

Q: Why do I have to teleport to donate?
For your security, Second Life does not allow you to give Lindens to other avatars from HUD objects or attachments.  Thanks for taking the extra step to show your appreciation.
